• El Stellarium es un popular software de Astronomía, de código abierto y descarga gratuita. Se trata de un muy buen “planetario” o simulador del cielo desde cualquier lugar de la Tierra y en cualquier horario.
• Es una excelente herramienta pedagógica para la cultura general astronómica de cualquier persona y es ideal para que el astrólogo o el estudiante la utilice como forma de tomar contacto con la Carta Natal, como el correlato de una realidad Cielo-Tierra de carácter tridimensional.
• El Stellarium simula la posición de las estrellas visibles y otras no visibles a simple vista, luminarias, planetas, planetoides, asteroides, nebulosas estelares, galaxias más cercanas, etc. Puede hacer acercamientos a los planetas, nebulosas y galaxias.
• Permite visualizar el Horizonte quitando la luminosidad solar y agregar las líneas del Meridiano, el Ecuador Celeste y la Eclíptica, como así también dibujar los asterismos y las figuras de las constelaciones en el Cielo.
• También, muestra las coordenadas de los cuerpos en sus posiciones no locales (coordenadas ecuatoriales) y locales (coordenadas horizontales); dibujando las diferentes cuadrículas mostrando la evolución del cielo con el correr del tiempo.
• Se puede avanzar y retroceder en el tiempo, simulando la posición de todos los objetos del Cielo, según la visión desde un lugar particular y en una época determinada (o el cielo de una Carta Natal, por ejemplo).
• Permite simular observaciones astronómicas y pronosticar eventos, aspectos, etc.
